CNC Machinist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at NOV Inc. in Nisku, Alberta. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality precision components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Operate and maintain CNC machines, including setup and operation of CNC lathes and mills.
  • Perform precise measuring and inspection to ensure components meet specific tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to maximize material usage and equipment efficiency.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following health and safety protocols and reporting any issues.
  • Assist with training and development of other employees.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure the work area is clean and organized.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in CNC machining, preferably with setup and operation of CNC lathes and mills.
  • Experience with Okuma, DMG Mori, Mazak, Weingartner, and Leistritz machines.
  • Knowledge of G-Code, Siemens, Heidenhain, and OS300 controls.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, fumes, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Excellent mathematical and numerical comprehension, with good abilities to use inspection and measurement equipment.
