Position Overview:

The Speech-Language Pathologist will function autonomously as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. This role involves the planning, execution, and assessment of rehabilitation services, employing a client-centered and goal-oriented methodology for both pediatric and adult populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a skilled inter-disciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Audiologists, to deliver outpatient and community-based Speech-Language Pathology services.
  • Implement a social-emotional, neuro-developmental, and play-based approach to ensure a family-centered care model.
  • Partner with colleagues to provide specialized feeding and swallowing services for children and youth.
  • Prepare for the expansion of feeding and swallowing services in a forthcoming Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Active registration with the relevant regulatory body.
  • Eligibility for membership in professional associations related to Speech-Language Pathology.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in assessing, identifying, and treating clients across various age groups and with diverse conditions.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must maintain good physical and mental health, capable of sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and time constraints.
