Position Overview

The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the nursing units under the guidance of the Health Services Manager. This position is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the management of nursing units, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Foster a supportive work environment that emphasizes ethics, organizational health, and quality service delivery.
  • Assist the Health Services Manager in program service delivery, ensuring effective individual and team performance.
  • Promote adherence to Quality Standards and relevant legislation in all nursing practices.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Current registration with the relevant nursing regulatory body.
  • A minimum of five years of recent clinical nursing experience, with preference for experience in rural settings.
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • A commitment to professional development, including participation in leadership training programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on human resource management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to self-motivate.
  • Capability to identify budgetary concerns and assist in developing strategies to manage expenditures.
  • Competency in additional languages is an asset, with French being preferred.

Work Schedule

  • This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 75 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is competitive, and successful candidates may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
