About the Role

MATHESON SWEETS & CATERING is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to optimize kitchen efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Develop and implement new cooking techniques and equipment training for our cooking staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Create innovative and delicious recipes that meet our quality standards and exceed customer expectations.
  • Supervise and mentor our kitchen staff, including sous-chefs, specialist chefs, and cooks, to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Plan and execute menus that meet our quality standards and cater to diverse customer preferences.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to food safety and handling procedures.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate our kitchen team.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, and adapt to changing kitchen demands.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting.
