Senior Cyber Security Analyst Job Description

Leveragetek is seeking a seasoned Cyber Security Analyst to join its team in Ottawa or Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance methodologies for detection engineering, cyber threat hunting, and data source management.
  • Collaborate with IT and business risk owners to develop requirements, strategies, and frameworks to enhance the overall cyber security program.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and education/awareness regarding security initiatives to support business risk owners in embedding security management processes.
  • Offer advisory services to IT and business areas, and assist in writing and reviewing organizational security policies to support internal control.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate analysts and lead group analysis sessions.

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in information security, information risk management, or information systems.
  • Strong background and experience in security operations, including creating and providing input into cyber security program policies, procedures, and frameworks.
  • Experience and background providing cyber security related presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Collaborating with financial institutions to resolve cyber security issues or policy violations.
  • Industry certifications (GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, CISSP, CISA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of federal government priorities in relation to financial sector policy.

Assets:

  • Familiarity with the Criminal Code of Canada as it applies to cyber issues.
  • Experience in secure procurement of security technologies and architecture.
  • Post-secondary education, or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, or related fields.
  • Experience with Python and PowerShell scripting.
