Continuous Improvement Specialist

Altis Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our client's team in Brampton, ON. As a key member of the manufacturing team, you will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Focused Improvement Pillar: Develop and implement strategies to drive continuous improvement across the organization, leveraging World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies.
- Challenge the Status Quo: Utilize coaching skills to promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to challenge the status quo and drive innovation.
- Provide Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to implement Kaizen methodologies and tools.
- Facilitate Horizontal Expansion: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to expand Kaizen methodologies across the organization, driving cultural change and operational excellence.
- Assess and Analyze Progress: Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of Kaizen projects, ensuring measurable results and continuous improvement.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Organize, track, and analyze the progress and impact of Kaizen projects, driving continuous improvement and reducing targeted losses and wastes.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Consistently work to improve the safety of employees, ensuring compliance with local, regulatory, and corporate safety and environmental policies and regulations.
- Document Process Improvements: Document process improvements and train personnel on associated changes, ensuring seamless implementation.
- Lead the Focused Improvement Pillar: Support the implementation of WCM methodologies, aiming for best-in-class operational performance.
- Drive Project Success: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success through effective communication and collaboration.
- Identify and Evaluate Operational Risks: Utilize SWOT analysis to identify and evaluate operational risks and opportunities.
- Support WAM Initiatives: Participate in WCM audits and support all WAM initiatives, promoting a world-class mindset.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years of direct experience as a Continuous Improvement Engineer.
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Lean Manufacturing, or The Toyota Way methodologies, with expertise in Value Stream Mapping, VA/NVA measurement, 5S, Visual Control, SMED, JIT, OEE, Poka-Yoke, 5Why, and SWOT analysis.
- Leadership and Communication: Proven experience in leading successful Kaizen projects with a history of measurable results, strong leadership and effective communication skills, combined with problem-solving and data-driven decision-making abilities.
- Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
