Student Systems Integration and Special Projects Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Student Systems Integration and Special Projects Manager. This is a critical leadership role that requires a strong understanding of integrated student systems and a proven track record of successful project management.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Oversight and Management
- Provide strategic oversight and management of the University of Waterloo Portal
- Work in conjunction with IST management to create a long-term strategy and roadmap for the Portal
- Research, develop, and maintain annual plans for Portal development features
- Strategic Project Management
- Lead and manage projects within the APS portfolio through scaled project initiation, planning, execution, and closure phases
- Develop, monitor, and control all phases of the project
- Report regularly on project goals and status to key stakeholders
- Community Management
- Plan student engagement opportunities and seek feedback from students
- Lead the support strategy for the needs of the 40,000+ UWaterloo Portal community of users
- Provide guidance and expertise on how to enhance the Portal for additional audiences
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and/or diploma in program/project management
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate is an asset
- 5+ years of experience in a technology project or project management role, preferably in higher education
- Experience in engaging internal and external stakeholders to work collaboratively and build consensus
- Experience and knowledge of web mobile app UI/UX design principles
- Experience and knowledge of accessibility requirements (AODA) and Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
- Experience writing copy for a student audience
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodology
- Advanced project management skills
- Strong communication skills – both oral and written
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective time management skills
