Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Coordinator to join our team at Webber. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising maintenance crews, ensuring that all aspects of the contract are coordinated and completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform condition assessments of pavements, signs, guardrails, tunnels, bridges, vegetation, and other contract infrastructure and assets.
  • Work with the Operations Manager/Capital Works Manager to determine the best approach for bringing assets into contract compliance, considering cost, timelines, and efficiency.
  • Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Supervise maintenance crews, including selection, development, and performance management.
  • Respond to incident emergencies and coordinate work of on-site responders.
  • Coordinate with fleet teams/mechanic for inspection, calibration, and repair of the fleet.
  • Manage, monitor, and control highway project assets and materials.
  • Identify opportunities for changes and improvements in work methods, processes, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Create and manage successful completion of all work orders.
  • Review claims for damages on the highway system for validity and arrange for collection of data.
  • Work with field coordinators to ensure accurate documentation and reporting of work as per contractual requirements and company policies.
  • Work with field coordinators to manage inventory for consumables.
  • Detail directly with ministry staff, other contractors, external agencies, and the general public to respond to complaints and issues.
  • Work with the Operations Manager/Capital Works Manager to identify and qualify subcontractors and assist in negotiating contract parameters.
  • Assist and monitor routine work plan activities such as traffic control and maintenance work.
  • Be available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum five years of work experience in construction and/or road maintenance industry required. Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
Work Environment

The incumbent will split working time between office and field work.

Office Environment

  • The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand and/or walk for short periods of time.

Field Environment

  • The employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
