Sessional Instructor, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Sessional Instructor to teach in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at North Island College. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing the practice course NUR 276: Consolidated Practice Experience II to a cohort of BSN students via a face-to-face delivery method.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments
- Use a variety of approaches and materials to address different learning needs
- Teach in assigned subject areas and include all required subject matter or skill activity
- Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment
- Be available to students regularly during scheduled office hours and classroom hours
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree (completed or in progress) preferred
- Experience teaching adults, preferably at the postsecondary level
- Current registration with BCCNM (inclusive of Criminal Record)
- Current CPR level HCP
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or interest with Indigenous health and/or global health
- Experience using a variety of creative and motivating approaches to stimulate learning
- Ability to demonstrate effective team behaviours and support cooperative and effective working relationships
Working Conditions:
The practice setting for this position is located within a Comox Valley agency. Practicum placements will take place in a variety of practice settings and may require travel. Applicants need to have access to reliable transportation.
