About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Payments and Core Banking team in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data engineering solutions to support our business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data engineering solutions to ensure highly scalable, extensible, and performant data processing.
  • Contribute to the development of data ingestion, transformation, and extraction solutions in our Enterprise big data platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code using Spark (Scala/Python) to manipulate and store data from various sources.
  • Work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Participate in the implementation of data governance and data lineage concepts to ensure data transparency and accountability.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions to improve data processing and analytics.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience working with Big Data technologies.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Python, and Spark.
  • 5+ years of software development experience (SDLC).
  • Experience with Agile Scrum/Kanban methodology is an asset.
  • Production support experience is an asset.
  • Working experience with DevOps and running Jenkins pipelines is a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Basic RDBMS skills and experience (Oracle or SQL Server).
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux Command Line Interface (CLI).
  • Experience with code repository, version control, and code promotion tools such as Git/bitbucket.
