Financial Operations Analyst for Provider Services

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the Finance department with essential accounting tasks, which encompass collections, invoicing, cash application, balance sheet account reconciliation, processing refunds, and the month-end closing procedures. This role also involves addressing operational challenges within the collections process and the financial ERP system.

To contribute to our shared success, a solid understanding of billing and collections processes, along with accountability for both quantity and quality metrics, is crucial. In addition to your core duties, you are expected to foster a high-performance culture through collaboration, personal growth, and accountability. An ideal candidate will have experience working with a financial ERP system and applying Accounting Principles and Standards to enhance process efficiency and ensure data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute billing tasks according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Generate pre-authorized debit and credit card payment transactions for bank submission. Process cash applications for checks, including handling deposits and Interac E-transfer incoming payments.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and record journal entries for the month-end closing process.
  • Carry out collection activities, including investigating the root causes of non-payment and implementing necessary resolutions.
  • Create Accounts Payable vouchers for the refund process and prepare EFT payment files for the bank.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with a focus on collections.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft D365 or other financial ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented, with the ability to adapt to change and champion it within the team.
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines and flexible in accepting diverse responsibilities.
  • A collaborative team player committed to achieving common departmental goals.
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
