Hotel Front Desk Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Hotel Front Desk Clerk to join our team at the UNION CLUB OF BRITISH COLUMBIA. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process group arrivals and departures, taking into account the specific needs of each group.
  • Take, cancel, and change room reservations as needed, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Provide guests with information on hotel facilities and services, as well as recommendations for local points of interest.
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures, ensuring the well-being of our guests and staff.
  • Answer telephone calls and relay messages to guests and staff, providing excellent communication skills.
  • Assist guests with special needs, providing a personalized and supportive experience.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a front desk or customer service role.
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
