Job Summary

The Health and Safety Specialist will assist in various projects relating to health and safety at all business locations in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and evaluate occupational health, safety, hazardous environmental conditions, and practices in the workplace.
  • Assist in on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, or in response to concerns from employees and managers.
  • Stay current with trends and changes to health and safety legislations and standards, to anticipate their impact on our agricultural operations.
  • Research and recommend technology and relevant trends, with relation to safety matters, and assist with implementation of existing processes.
  • Review Safety Data Sheets database for Canada to ensure compliance with inventory products.
  • Assist with tracking and filing of Health & Safety related licenses and training records.
  • Participate in health & safety meetings.
Requirements
  • Completing 3rd year of BA in related field, 2-year college candidates may be considered if minimum qualifications are met.
  • Must be 18 years of age with a full G driving license to drive a company vehicle, along with the ability to travel independently.
Working Conditions
  • Additional hours, or time outside of the normal business hours, may be necessary due to operational requirements.
  • Requires time to be spent both in office and at the branches. Traveling will be required.
