Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison to join our team at GlaxoSmithKline. As a Medical Science Liaison, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of our vaccines and respiratory products through impactful scientific interactions and support of key external and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with field partners to provide credible scientific clinical information about our vaccines and therapies to healthcare professionals, external experts, organizations, and decision-makers.
  • Establish and maintain scientific peer-to-peer relationships with key external experts by presenting balanced scientific data, supporting advanced medical educational opportunities, and providing scientific support.
  • Be recognized as the scientific field-based partner in the territory and maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of diseases, vaccines, treatments, and the competitive landscape.
  • Build and implement comprehensive territory plans to meet medical targets and objectives.
  • Represent GSK at scientific congresses by providing session/abstract coverage, booth staffing coverage, leading external expert engagement plans, and contributing to scientific end-of-congress summaries/share-backs.
  • Provide scientific training for GSK sales representatives regarding GSK products and the conditions they treat utilizing approved sales training materials.
  • Assist the medical, clinical, and HEOR teams with Investigator Initiated Studies and real-world evidence projects as needed, and support identification of potential clinical trial sites for clinical development activities in Canada as required.
Requirements
  • An advanced post-graduate scientific degree (MD, PhD, etc.)
  • Exceptional aptitude to apply and leverage scientific and medical data with scientific credibility while enabling peer-to-peer discussion and debate
  • Excellent public speaker, with outstanding scientific presentation skills
  • Strong demonstration of strategic mindset in developing and executing comprehensive territory plans to achieve medical targets and objectives
  • Knowledge of regulations governing medical information exchange with healthcare professionals within the Canadian pharmaceutical environment
  • A valid driver's license is required for this field-based position
  • Ability to work independently and ability to travel throughout the territory up to 70% with evenings and weekends involved
  • Previous experience in vaccines or respiratory (+2 years) in a medical affairs position with established relationships/connections with associated healthcare professionals in Vaccines/Immunology or Respiratory is strongly preferred
