WineDirect is the leading provider of Direct-to-Consumer platforms for wineries. We're seeking an exceptional Head of Engineering to lead our software engineering team and drive innovation in the wine industry.

About the Role

As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of engineers to develop and deliver cutting-edge software solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the software engineering department, overseeing all engineering operations and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies, processes, and practices to ensure high-quality product development and delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure successful product launches.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the engineering team.
  • Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of top engineering talent, ensuring a high-performance team.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Manage the engineering budget, including resource allocation, project prioritization, and cost control.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure the security, reliability, performance, and scalability of our platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in relevant technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Adept at working in an agile environment with talented engineering teams.
