About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at Garfield's Heating and Air Conditioning Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Start up systems and test for leaks using testing devices, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as recharging systems with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators, and calibrating systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Interpret gas codes and regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Handle, recover, and store refrigerants, adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems, utilizing technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification
  • Working at heights training
  • Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation
  • Steel-toed safety boots, gloves, and other necessary tools and equipment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the HVAC industry
  • Knowledge of electrical devices, electronic and solid-state systems, and on-board diagnostics
  • Experience with heat pumps, filtration systems, built-up (split system) systems, humidification and de-humidification systems, and ventilation systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to a positive and productive work culture
