About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our team at Whitemud Ironworks Limited. As an Ironworker, you will play a critical role in the construction and installation of steel structures, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Erect and Install Scaffolding and Platforms: Safely set up and dismantle scaffolding and working platforms to facilitate construction and installation of steel structures.
  • Signal Crane Operators: Communicate with crane operators to position units according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Align and Secure Steel Units: Align, weld, or bolt steel units in place to ensure proper fit and stability.
  • Inspect and Test Structures: Conduct regular inspections and tests to identify any defects, deterioration, or non-compliance with specifications or regulations.
  • Position and Secure Reinforcement Materials: Place and secure steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures.
  • Unload and Position Steel Units: Safely unload and position steel units to facilitate hoisting and installation.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Accurately read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Requirements
  • Ironworker Trade Certification: Possess a valid Ironworker Trade Certification.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in ironworking, with a strong understanding of steel fabrication and installation.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
