Job Title: Community Housing Health Care Assistant

Job Summary:

Bonaventure Support Services, in collaboration with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), is seeking a Community Housing Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role will provide support to individuals with diverse abilities in a group home setting, promoting their independence and dignity.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to individuals with diverse abilities, including assistance with daily living activities.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and other team members to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate records, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist individuals with their physical, emotional, social, and recreational needs, promoting their overall well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and community resources.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and risk management strategies, promoting a safe and supportive environment.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred formal education (Diploma or Degree, CSW, RCA, SIVA, etc.) and/or work experience with persons with diverse abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-stress environment.
  • Valid BC Class 4 Driver's License or willingness to obtain one within 3 months of employment.
  • RCMP Criminal Record Check, MCFD Hub Screening, First Aid with CPR Certificate, Food Safe Level 1 Certificate, Immunization Records or Medical Exemption, and Signed Bonaventure Hire Package.
