Heating and Air Conditioning Technician

We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team at Koolmax Heating & Cooling LTD. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating and cooling systems in residential and commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and overhaul heating systems, including gas furnaces, heat pumps, and boilers.
- Install ventilation, air handling, and air conditioning systems, including ductwork and vents.
- Measure and lay out reference points for installation, ensuring accurate and efficient work.
- Read blueprints and other instructions to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems to identify and repair faults.
- Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
- Start up systems and test for leaks using testing devices, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
- Bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting heavy equipment and materials.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Client focus and excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
- This role involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes, such as reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

- Recruits Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives.
- Assists with immediate transition needs of Veterans, including relocation and housing.
- Offers workshops, counselling services, or other resources to help Veterans navigate their transition into the civilian workforce.
- Supports Veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the language of the civilian job market.
- Offers flexible onboarding options to allow Veterans to gradually adapt to the civilian workplace.
- Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
- Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Develops and maintains relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
