Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Lakeridge Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with stable conditions
- Administer treatments as ordered by physicians and assigned by Patient Care Manager or Patient Care Specialist
- Observe and enforce infection control principles and aseptic techniques to prevent nosocomial and communicable diseases
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current B.C.L.S.
- Proven related and effective experience in a Medical Unit or similar environment
- Current certificate in Medication Administration
- Updated nursing skills including Aseptic Techniques and Patient Assessment courses
- Knowledge and experience in wound care
- Demonstrated problem-solving and teaching skills
- Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven sound judgement, good observation and patient assessment skills, tact and empathy
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignments in a reasonable length of time
- Demonstrated adherence and support to the customer focus/patient centred philosophy
- Ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations
- Ability to lift, turn, and transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids
- Demonstrated commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Demonstrated ability to work at full scope of practice according to the CNO guidelines
- Must have a satisfactory performance record

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions
- The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364
- Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months
