Position Overview

Job Title: HR Coordinator

Role Summary:

This role is situated in Truro, NS, and reports directly to the HR Manager. The HR Coordinator is tasked with addressing our staffing requirements for a temporary period of six months. The responsibilities of the HR Coordinator encompass managing our recruitment and onboarding processes, identifying qualified candidates, and employing advanced interviewing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR to assess staffing needs and devise effective strategies.
  • Design and oversee the recruitment process.
  • Identify qualified candidates through job boards, databases, networking, and other channels.
  • Foster relationships with professional organizations, communities, and other relevant entities.
  • Evaluate and present qualified candidates to hiring teams.
  • Assist hiring teams in conducting interviews using various techniques (e.g., structured and behavioral interviews).
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers to enhance their decision-making in recruitment.
  • Generate reports on recruitment progress and other relevant metrics.
  • Support the onboarding of new employees, including coordinating the orientation process.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree or certification in HR Management or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in recruitment.
  • Practical experience across the entire recruitment lifecycle.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • A high level of adaptability to manage multiple priorities in a large organization.
  • Strong integrity, energy, and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and its applications.
  • Enthusiasm and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong attention to detail, follow-up, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
