Job Summary

Encore Global is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Manager - Power Distribution to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of electrical requirements for our venues, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Development:
    • Identify training needs and provide support for team members, including career and performance goal setting and tracking.
    • Recruit, hire, and manage full-time dedicated power distribution staff at assigned locations.
    • Lead, motivate, and performance manage staff, including progressive discipline when necessary.
    • Assign projects based on factors such as existing relationships, area of expertise, and personality.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Conduct field assessments to ensure power safety compliance within assigned regions.
    • Assist with periodic site inspections of new and existing facilities and evaluate the safety of existing power distribution infrastructure.
    • Assume responsibility as Designated Master Electrician for Encore ECRA License and submit and manage permits where applicable for electrical work in Ontario.
  • Labour and Equipment Management:
    • Partner with venue and regional leadership to publish and maintain work schedules.
    • Create and execute power distribution load-in/load-out plans for trade shows and production events.
    • Supervise and complete set and strike of required power distribution for general sessions, breakouts, computer labs, meal functions, entertainment events, exhibitors, decorators, and production companies.
  • Company Support:
    • Assist RVP, Specialty Services with site inspections of new and existing facilities and evaluate, design, maintain, and install Power Distribution infrastructure.
    • Assist venue and regional leaders in the creation and sale of Encore produced shows that ensure standard operating procedure compliance and timeline efficiency.
    Requirements
    • 5-7 years of electrical experience.
    • Master Electrician license.
    • Education Level: Certificate.
    • Electrical Knowledge: Working knowledge of 110v-600v, single and three-phase equipment, different connectors, power phases, amperages, and voltages.
    • Lift certification.
    • Lift operation experience.
    • Broad familiarity with the trade show and production industries.
    • Customer service experience is required with both internal and external customers.
    • The candidate will also have at least 1 year serving in an instructional role.
    • Able to create and implement training programs, safety procedures, and ongoing maintenance and continuous education programs.
    • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office CADD programs such as Vector works or AutoCAD.
    • Ability to work long days, have flexible shifts, and be available 24/7.
