Edgebanding Machine Specialist

Role Overview:

The Edgeband Production Operator is responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of the Edgebanding machinery, ensuring that all products meet the established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure the Edgebander according to specific job requirements, which includes adjusting feed rates, cutter head positions, and pressure settings.
  • Execute proper setup and calibration protocols for all machinery and tools utilized in production.
  • Prepare and inspect raw materials for edgebanding, ensuring compliance with quality specifications and dimensions.
  • Oversee the edgebanding process, conducting quality checks to confirm that finished products align with quality benchmarks, including defect inspection and edge alignment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on the Edgebander, which involves cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of any worn or damaged components to maintain peak performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve operational issues with the Edgebander, such as jams, feed irregularities, or blade wear, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Strive to meet production targets and deadlines, optimizing machine settings and minimizing downtime during changeovers or maintenance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines with minimal oversight.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating an Edgebander or a comparable machine.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A natural curiosity and a commitment to excellence, consistently seeking personal and professional growth.
  • A proactive approach to safety, including reporting and engaging in Environmental Health and Safety initiatives.
