About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Petroleum Refinery Process Engineer to join our team at Ecolomondo Environmental (Hawkesbury) Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality control on programs, procedures, and control strategies to ensure optimal refinery operations.
  • Determine product specifications and establish new quality control programs and strategies to meet industry standards.
  • Evaluate chemical process technology and equipment to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct economic and technical feasibility studies to inform business decisions and drive growth.
  • Develop guidelines and specifications for the handling of dangerous chemicals, environmental protection, and standards for foods, materials, and consumer goods.
  • Oversee the construction, modification, operation, and maintenance of pilot plants, processing units, or processing plants to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design plant layouts and production facilities to optimize efficiency and safety.
  • Control process machinery using a distributed control system and process computers to monitor and adjust operations in real-time.
  • Communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions to stakeholders, including production supervisors and employees.
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the development of chemical engineering processes, studies of chemical engineering procurement, construction, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Hire, supervise, and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques.
  • Process data to conduct basic analyses of trends and inform business decisions.
  • Participate in the commercialization of new products and services.
  • Consult with production supervisors to schedule production runs in a cost- and time-efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial operations and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of industrial processes and products.
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
  • Process control experience.
  • Industrial chemistry experience.
  • Renewable resources experience.
