Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Addiction Worker to join our team at the Sister Margaret Smith Centre. As an Addiction Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to individuals in a residential setting, including crisis intervention skills.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct assessments and develop strategies to address addiction-related issues.
  • Provide education and support to individuals and their families on addiction-related topics.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in addiction treatment.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in a post-secondary Human Services field and 1 year of working experience or specialized training in addictions.
  • Working knowledge of addictions and familiarity with working in an adult residential setting.
  • Safe Food Handling certificate and Standard First Aid certificate.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Class G driver's license and adequate insurance.
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position is conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) and proof of COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption.
