Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at the Niagara Catholic District School Board. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of our financial plans and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports, including month-end close and budget development for Estimates and Revised Estimates.
  • Collaborate with Accounting Department staff to prepare 7-month and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Support the completion of the Board's financial statements and Education Finance Information System (EFIS).
  • Work with stakeholders to determine annual needs and feasibility of requests.
  • Ensure budget lines and personnel data are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Prepare and review journal entries for month-end, 7-month, and year-end reporting.
  • Support the preparation of month-end, 7-month, and year-end reporting processes.
  • Liaise with external auditors, all levels of management, and Ministry staff.
Requirements:
  • A four-year University Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Three to five years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA, CPA-CA, CPA-CMA, CPA-CGA) or actively working towards completion of designation.
  • Member in good standing with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft NAV Dynamics/Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Previous experience with Budgeting software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Public Sector Accounting Standards.
