Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Improvement Engineer Co-op to join our team at Accoravillage. As a key member of our process improvement team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and efficiency gains within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze current business processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in the development of process improvement plans and recommendations.
  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis to evaluate process performance.
  • Design and implement experiments to test new processes or process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process changes.
  • Develop process documentation, including process flowcharts, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of 5S, Workflow and Standard Operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with departments and Management to assist in the identification and execution of LSS and VA/VE projects, in order to deliver Process Improvement and Cost Reduction.
  • Under direction of the President, Production Supervisors, and Process Engineer Team, conduct applicable time studies.
  • Identify wastes and implement process improvements for measurable cost savings.
  • Report and track metrics and performance monitoring systems to quantify and provide accountability for all lean activities.
  • Contribute to the culture of Continuous Improvement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Environmental/Health & Safety procedures in liaison with the appropriate Federal/Provincial safety/environmental agency and industry organizations.
Key Experience & Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Diploma, Bachelor's, or Master's degree program in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and software such as Minitab, JMP, or SAS.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
