About the Role

Momentum Developmental Support Corporation is seeking a skilled Developmental Service Worker to join our team. As a Developmental Service Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflict situations in a calm and professional manner, ensuring the well-being of clients and staff.
  • Supervision and Support: Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Client Care: Assist clients/guests with special needs, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Transportation and Accompaniment: Accompany clients to appointments and social outings, ensuring safe and timely transportation.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and experience in a related field.
  • Certifications and Licenses: First Aid Certificate and a valid driver's licence.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with physically demanding tasks and weight handling up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, judgement, client focus, flexibility, initiative, and team player.
Working Conditions
  • Work Setting: Group home and private residence settings.
  • Work Hours: 12 to 40 hours bi-weekly, with flexibility to work varying shifts and on-call.
