Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing freight invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling vendor accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure payment terms are met with valued vendors.
  • Validate and post freight & rail invoices using the 3-way matching process.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
  • Contribute to process improvements where applicable.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with customers and coworkers, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date records in our documentation and filing systems.
  • Assist with audit requests, ad hoc duties, and projects as required.

Requirements

  • Customer service centric, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
  • Proficient in data entry and managing high volumes of information with precision.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
  • College or University diploma with a focus on Administration, Finance, or a related field.
