Job Title: Greenhouse Grower

We are seeking an experienced Greenhouse Grower to join our team at West Coast Floral, a wholesale greenhouse in South Surrey. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of crop production, ensuring the highest quality plants for our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain optimal growing conditions, including irrigation, fertilizers, and climate control, to ensure healthy plant growth.
  • Monitor and analyze growing conditions, making adjustments as needed to optimize crop yields and quality.
  • Prepare and maintain greenhouse spaces for planned production, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor crop health, identifying and addressing any issues related to pests, diseases, or other pathogens.
  • Apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides as directed, ensuring safe handling and application practices.
  • Collaborate with the production manager to plan and schedule crops, ensuring timely and efficient production.
  • Lead and supervise other team members, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest growing techniques and technologies, participating in ongoing learning and professional development.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in greenhouse production, with a strong understanding of plant health and disease management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions when identifying plant diseases and insects.
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada.
