We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Engineer to join our team at Tri-Mach, a leading provider of custom equipment and services for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. With over 30 years of experience, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner in the industry, known for our state-of-the-art machinery and innovative solutions.

About the Role

As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and deploying machinery and equipment, working closely with customers and our engineering team. We are looking for someone who is eager to continue their career in Engineering, detail-oriented, professional, and an out-of-the-box thinker. The ideal candidate will promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create preliminary concepts for customer quoting purposes
  • Engage with customers at a technical level to understand their specific requirements
  • Liaison between third parties to ensure product claims are verified
  • Develop and execute presentations internally and to customers
  • Provide assistance in estimating labour and material cost for quoting purposes as well as design suggestions/concept layouts
  • Identify technical risks and their impact on the project to mitigate issues
  • Participate in concept reviews, design kick-offs, and manufacturing reviews
  • Travel to customer locations as required
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values
Requirements
  • Mechanical Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent
  • Have or working towards Professional Engineering Certification (Peng)
  • Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD 2D
  • Knowledge of the food industry, food safety and/or sanitary design principles
  • Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment and work independently on various design projects
  • Able to solve complex technical problems and use critical thinking in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Able to maintain professionalism when dealing with clients in all interfaces
