Job Title: Pipe Fitter

Vancity Excavating ltd. is seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team. As a Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment
  • Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and sprinkler and fire protection equipment
  • Test systems for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush systems
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size
  • Select type and size of pipe required
  • Test systems for leaks using testing equipment
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in wet/damp and noisy environments
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads
  • Steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses/goggles required
