About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter-Contractor to join our team at ZA Electrical and General Contractor Ltd. As a Carpenter-Contractor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare production and other reports to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Resolve work problems and provide technical advice to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Read blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure timely project completion.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to achieve high-quality finishes.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials safely and efficiently.
  • Build and repair wooden frames used to mould concrete products.
  • Assist with landscape constructions to enhance project aesthetics.
  • Work with minimal supervision to demonstrate independence and self-motivation.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to meet project specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair to maintain project quality.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure project stability.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various establishments.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field of employment.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent oral communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
  • Initiative to take ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Judgement to make informed decisions and resolve work problems.
  • Organized to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Reliability to meet project deadlines and commitments.
  • Values and ethics to maintain a professional and respectful work environment.
