Job Title: Assistant Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to join our team at Redekop Ferrario Properties. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of our multifamily projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Superintendent in leading on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors, laborers, and the construction team, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment, preventing accidents and injuries.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and enforce adherence to construction plans and specifications.
  • Create and manage construction schedules, coordinating the activities of multiple trades and ensuring tasks are completed on time.
  • Monitor project costs and manage expenditures to stay within budget.
  • Identify and resolve project challenges and issues promptly to keep the project on track.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the construction team, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assist with the maintenance of detailed records of project progress, changes, and issues for legal and financial purposes.
  • Assist in addressing stakeholder questions, concerns, and inquiries regarding project progress and quality.
  • Ensure all permits and regulatory requirements are met, handling inspections, and addressing non-compliance promptly.
Requirements:
  • Experience in multifamily construction, ideally 6 story wood frame.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of BC building code, provincial and municipal regulations.
  • Strong experience in site safety management and WorkSafe compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, MS Planner.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management.
