About the Role:

The District Municipality of Muskoka is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at The Pines Long Term Care Home. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care to residents, including administering medications, monitoring conditions, and reporting changes in physical or mental status.
  • Oversee the care given by non-registered staff and ensure that it is provided in accordance with individual resident care plans and relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote resident choice and autonomy.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support the delivery of high-quality care.

Requirements:

  • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Practical Nursing (2.5 years diploma) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care home is an asset.
  • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Completed police record check, including vulnerable sector screening.
