Project & Control Engineer/Officer Role

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a skilled Project & Control Engineer/Officer to join our Darlington Project Controls team in Bowmanville. This role involves coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the Front-End Planning Process and develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) based on project scope.
  • Create and maintain accurate project schedules, performing monthly updates and cost analysis.
  • Manage project costs in accordance with OPG's project management governance.
  • Set up and maintain alignment between source systems and project control systems.
  • Facilitate project metrics reporting and variance analysis, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions.
  • Prepare Risk Management plans and create timely project status reports.
  • Develop and maintain program-level schedules and process changes through approved change control processes.
  • Support project financial close-out and assist with continuous improvement of PMO processes and procedures.
Requirements:
  • 4-year university degree in engineering, business, or finance.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate and/or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) certification is an asset.
  • Over 6 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, risk management, and control services.
  • Clear understanding of project controls principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Advanced user of P6 and EcoSys.
