Your Role

  • This position is for a dedicated Mechanical Engineering Leader focused on guiding and enhancing the capabilities of the Mechanical Engineering Team. As a Team Leader, you will oversee project execution and manage all facets of mechanical design, utilizing Solidworks 3D design, and ensuring efficient machine building processes for our global clientele. Machines are designed with consideration for the specific location of service, incorporating necessary regulatory compliance into the design. This role demands a thorough understanding of customer requirements and the ability to prepare detailed material and labor estimates for quotations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficient mechanical design and drafting skills, with experience in materials such as stainless steel, aluminum alloys, and engineering plastics. Familiarity with machining methods including precision lathe work, CNC routing, milling, and finishing.
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members effectively.
  • Manage project timelines and oversee labor and material costs for all initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Customers, Sales, and Project Management, employing strong communication skills.
  • Capability to layout, draft, design, and support P&ID's using AutoCAD.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical principles, with the ability to analyze and resolve customer challenges promptly.
  • Maintain mechanical design standards and best practices within the Engineering Team.
  • Knowledge of NFPA and ATEX standards applicable to hazardous location installations.
  • Experience in the design and conceptualization of custom equipment for the Pharmaceutical and Food and Beverage sectors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with an OEM Manufacturer or equivalent in Machine Design.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Solidworks 3D.
  • 3 years of experience using FEA software.
  • 3 years of experience with fluid control pneumatic electro/mechanical assemblies.
  • 5+ years of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Must possess a Canadian Passport and be willing to travel internationally approximately 10% to 15%.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
