Job Title: Instructor, Advanced Arts

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced arts instructor to join our team at the City of Ottawa. As an arts educator, you will be responsible for designing, teaching, and evaluating creative introductory to advanced instructional programs in theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, and multi-media arts for all ages.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality arts programs that cater to diverse age groups and skill levels.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a comprehensive arts education program that aligns with the City of Ottawa's goals and objectives.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to enhance program delivery.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a university/college degree in Fine Arts, Art History, and/or education in one or more of the following arts disciplines: theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, or multi-media arts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practicing and/or teaching experience in related arts discipline.
  • Previous experience working with all ages in an arts instructional setting.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certificates, AODA Customer Service/IASR Training, and High Five training courses.
