Job Title: Career Counsellor

We are seeking a skilled Career Counsellor to join our team at SEMO de Granby et région. As a Career Counsellor, you will play a vital role in helping clients achieve their career goals and overcome employment barriers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with clients to understand their employment history, educational background, and career aspirations.
  • Assess clients' problems and develop personalized case histories to inform career guidance.
  • Identify and address barriers to employment, providing clients with job readiness skills, job search strategies, and resume writing assistance.
  • Administer and interpret vocational tests to determine clients' interests, aptitudes, and abilities.
  • Provide labour market information to clients, including job openings, entry requirements, and occupational trends.
  • Support established workers in dealing with job dissatisfaction, making mid-career changes, and adjusting to workplace transitions.
  • Conduct vocational testing and psychometric assessments to inform career guidance.
  • Liaise with community agencies and partners to identify additional services and provide referrals.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in career counselling or a related field is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a community-based agency setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook and MS Word.
  • Professional accreditation in career counselling or a related field.
