Computational Immunologist

Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO) is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist I to join our team in the field of computational immunology. As a key member of our research team, you will contribute to the development of novel vaccines and therapeutic approaches to address emerging infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement advanced computational models for vaccine development and immunogenic epitope prediction
• Collaborate with our team of Principal Scientists and external research sponsors to develop and apply cutting-edge computational technologies
• Develop and lead training programs in computational immunology for technical staff, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows
• Conduct sound numerical experiments and interpret findings in a trans-disciplinary team-based environment

Requirements:

• PhD in life science or computer science with a minimum of 3 years of experience in molecular immunology and medicinal chemistry
• Advanced use of first-principles molecular dynamics modeling software environments and coarse-grained molecular docking and artificial intelligence (AI)-based predictive models
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or C++, and familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases
• Track record of applying computational methodologies to address research questions, including peer-reviewed publications in immunological or computational research forums
