About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Carol Lake Metal Works Ltd. As a Machinist, you will play a critical role in the production of high-quality metal products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dimensional Control: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts to ensure precise fit and assembly.
  • Workpiece Preparation: Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Engineering Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to understand production requirements.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Repair machine tools and parts, and maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Setup and Operation: Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality metal products.
  • Quality Control: Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, and document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
  • Inspection and Reporting: Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Willing to relocate for this position.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependable, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, and a team player.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work requiring manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Language and Work Term
  • Language: English or French.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: 40 to 55 hours per week.
