Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Downtown Dairy Queen. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality food products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Co-ordinate Activities: Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Train Staff: Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles.
  • Estimate Ingredients and Supplies: Estimate the ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation, ensuring that we have sufficient stock to meet customer demand.
  • Hire and Manage Staff: Hire and manage food service staff, ensuring that we have a skilled and motivated team in place.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare Budget and Reports: Prepare budget and cost estimates, as well as reports on sales, stock, and wastage.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant.
  • Tasks: Establish methods to meet work schedules, supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff, train staff, estimate ingredients and supplies, hire food service staff, ensure quality control, prepare budget and reports.
  • Supervision: 3-4 people.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, team player.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
