Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with partners and senior staff to devise and execute effective strategies and tax planning projects;
- Conducting technical research and formulating tax plan recommendations;
- Overseeing a portfolio of tax service clients;
- Reviewing tax returns and related work prepared by team members;
- Identifying and nurturing new sales and client service opportunities;
- Managing engagement financials, including budgets, work in progress, variances, and billing;
- Mentoring, training, and developing junior staff;
- Leading practice and professional development initiatives.
A successful candidate will possess:
- CPA designation or equivalent experience;
- Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program or equivalent experience;
- Experience in public practice accounting;
- A minimum of two years in a tax specialty role; HST experience is advantageous;
- Proven ability to develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships;
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to lead, mentor, and cultivate high-performing teams;
- Project management skills;
- An entrepreneurial mindset;
- Business development skills are a plus.
