About the Role

Terra Early Learning Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Professional to join our team. As an Infant Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bathing, Diapering, and Feeding: Ensure the physical needs of infants and toddlers are met, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Encouraging Creativity: Encourage children to express their creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Engaging Children: Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Licensing and Regulations: Ensure knowledge of licensing regulations and maintain compliance.
  • Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
  • Health and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Possess Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certifications, as well as an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • Background Check: Have a clean criminal record check.
  • Transportation: Be able to utilize public transportation.
  • Physical Capabilities: Possess attention to detail and be able to perform a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
