Inventory Control Specialist

Job Summary:
The Receiver is a key member of our warehouse team, responsible for ensuring the smooth receipt and processing of goods. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload rail cars, vans, and flatbed trailers, and ensure accurate documentation and tagging of received products.
- Process and tally inbound products, and stock materials in designated locations.
- Verify the accuracy of receiving tallies and report any damages or discrepancies.
- Work closely with the Operations Supervisor to optimize warehouse layout and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Lead Hand to fulfill customer commitments for outbound loads.
- Coordinate with the Shipping and Receiving Clerk to schedule inbound loads.
- Maintain product rotation and ensure a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) flow.
- Ensure a clean and organized warehouse and yard.
- Conduct spot inventory counts as required.
- Identify and report safety hazards in the warehouse and yard.
- Adhere to customer service commitments and all work safety rules and regulations.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum two years' experience in Receiving and Inventory Control.
- Forklift training and the ability to operate large forklifts required.
- Trained in the use of a chainsaw would be considered an asset.
- Good knowledge of shipping/receiving practices.
- Attention to detail.
- Must have own steel-toed boots.
- Basic math skills.

- High school or equivalent.

Hours of Work:
- Typically, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Must be flexible with start and finish times.
