About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Communications and Community Engagement to join our Executive Team at Georgian Bay General Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the hospital's strategic communications and community engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications and community engagement strategies to promote the hospital's mission, values, and services.
  • Lead the development and execution of internal and external communications plans, including media relations, social media, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to advance the hospital's strategic priorities and manage risks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and media representatives.
  • Develop and manage the hospital's brand and reputation, ensuring consistency across all communications channels.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the President and CEO on communications and community engagement matters.
Requirements
  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communications and community engagement strategies.
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, patients, families, and community members.
What We Offer
  • An annual salary ranging from $132,136 to $145,443, along with a generous vacation package.
  • Eligible for a 4% performance-based pay, prorated for the 2024/2025 fiscal year.
