Director of Care

Pro Vita Care Management Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Director of Care to join our team at our Creekstone Care Centre in North Vancouver. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing and personal care services to our residents, utilizing a Person and Family-Centred Care approach (PFCC) and a gentle care philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist staff in direct supervision, manage contracted care staff, and provide direction and coaching.
- Monitor clinical skill levels of care staff, develop corrective plans, and implement changes to ensure care standards are adhered to.
- Complete performance evaluations on all care employees and administrative staff, ensuring the Annual Performance Evaluation policies are reviewed and signed.
- Develop resident care quality improvement goals in collaboration with the Director of Care and the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Engage support of others, including the Social Worker, to assist with Resident and family-related matters, and attend Family Council meetings as needed.
- Promote a culture of Safety as a Priority through monitoring, support, and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all government, employment, and industry laws, regulations, and requirements.
- Current nursing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in health sciences or related field, with post-graduate courses and/or certification in Gerontology an asset.
- Three to five years of recent related clinical and progressive leadership experience, including direct supervisory experience.
- CPR (Level C) & Occupational First Aid (Level 1).
- Ability to work flexible hours as required.
- Proficiency with Health Informatics systems such as Minimum Data Set (MDS), Gold Care or Point Click Care, eMar.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.
