Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist will play a vital role in our Regional Cancer Program, providing state-of-the-art planning, simulation, and treatment for patients with cancer. As a member of our Radiation Therapy / Treatment Planning Department, you will work collaboratively with a team of professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and educate patients on radiation treatment options and procedures
- Plan and administer radiation treatment, ensuring accurate and safe delivery
- Document patient treatment information and prescriptions
- Participate in quality assurance programs, research, and continuing education to stay up-to-date on best practices
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements
- Current registration with the Canadian Medical Radiation Technologists Registry (CMRTO)
- Membership with the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (OAMRT) and the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Minimum 3 years of recent and relevant experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Preferred qualifications include MRI certification and IV insertion certification
- Strong technical, communication, and critical analysis skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing situations
