Senior Tax Manager

CATSearch HR Consultancy Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager to lead our tax consulting projects and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Tax Consulting Projects: Oversee corporate reorganizations, estate freezes, and general tax planning initiatives.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of complex tax issues, and review models to assess potential tax savings.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate adherence to procedures and proper documentation for tax compliance and related forms.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to compliance teams on tax matters, and guide junior tax team members.
  • Communication and Presentation: Present research findings professionally, both verbally and in writing, and contribute to bi-weekly tax articles.
  • Business Development: Meet target billable hours and participate in business development initiatives.
Requirements:
  • CPA Designation: Possess a valid CPA designation.
  • CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course: Have completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course.
  • Public Accounting Experience: Hold 8+ years of experience in public accounting with expertise in personal, corporate, and trust tax returns, estate planning, reorganizations, and dispute resolution.
  • Tax Knowledge: Possess strong knowledge of Canadian income tax and experience in tax research.
  • Technical Skills: Be skilled in CCH (Tax Prep), CaseWare, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, responsiveness to client needs, and ability to build strong relationships.
  • Project Management: Possess strong project management and organizational skills, able to meet deadlines.
