Job Overview

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process complex financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, employee compensation, and benefits information.
  • Provide seasoned advice and guidance to Accounting Clerks on financial processing and transaction management.
  • Reconcile unique and specialized transactions related to client department specific program needs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions to meet performance metrics and service partnership agreements.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and post-secondary course financial/accounting courses, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of directly related full cycle financial transaction processing experience, and 1 year of directly related payroll transaction processing experience.
